AHI Library Open Day

As part of its activities to promote reading culture among young people, the Resource & Documentation Unit of AHI organized a Library Open Day for students from various schools within Somolu, Kosofe and Mainland Local Education Districts. The 30 participants were informed about the various services provided by the AHI reference library including access to books, journals, magazines and manuals on diverse issues relating to adolescent health and development. They were also informed about the CD-Rom services and the proposed internet services.

The event was also used as an opportunity to educate the participants on adolescent reproductive health issues. This was done through question and answer sessions using the “Feeling Good” cards. They were also equipped with skills that would enable them source for desired information in any library. These new skills were tested during a library game session where participants picked topics from a basket and searched for the materials on the shelf.
